About BUAN Library
Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources(BUAN) Library was set up in 1967 when the
University was established. The library was situated at the centre of the campus up to 1994 when a new building was completed. The new building is now
situated at the far western side of the campus.
The University is a parastatal under the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security. It is situated 11km
north of Gaborone at Content Farm in Sebele.
Our Vision
We, the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources Library, shall be a world-class information service provider contributing towards the advancement of the university scholarship activities.
Our Mission
We exist to support the teaching, learning, research and outreach activities of the University by:
Providing information to students, staff and the public
Making readily available, information sources
Providing an environment conducive to studying and learning
Teaching information literacy

Rules
Library patrons should adhere to the library code of conduct whose main tenets are presented below:
Patrons must observe silence at all times while in the library
Stealing and mutilation of library materials is a serious offence
Eating, drinking and smoking is not allowed in the library
Patrons should handle library materials with care
Study carrels may not be reserved
